  • Markus Klapper (MPIP, Mainz, Germany) teaches frequently in secondary schools (5th-12th grade) in the local area of Mainz giving an introduction to polymer science. The focus is to demonstrate how modern research is done at the university and in research centers to attract young people to study chemistry. This lectures typically last 90 min, in some cases if it is with experiments the teaching activity is extended to also 3 hours or more. These seminars cover a number of topics; a major part however is chemistry for modern energy technologies, especially polymers for fuel cells
